  • Known Issues

This is the list of bugs, usability issues and general “this doesn't work” comments that we currently know about. If you notice something awry that is not mentioned here, please let us know. Many thanks go out to Geoffrey Rockwell for his generous help with usability testing.

We will update this page as circumstances warrant.

    1. Browser (in)compatibility. This site does not work with Internet Explorer.

Status: This issue is not being worked on; the problem is not with our code but rather with IE's lack of compliance with community-accepted standards. Please use a free, standards-compliant browser (such as Firefox) to view and use VHL.

    2. Annotate-able text chunk size too big. Why not make a set of annotation buttons for each paragraph, as opposed to, say, chapter?

Status: That is our intent! We will be working on it as soon as more resources (financial and otherwise) become available.

    3. Missing spaces in texts. Some spaces are missing in the texts, too many to be typos. Is something wrong with your encoding?

Status: We're a bit mystified by this as well, and are looking into it.
